asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he is satisfied with the progress made in trying to conclude planning agreements.

Mr. Varley

As the House knows, eight companies have already agreed to take part in discussions about planning agreements and a start is being made this year on implementing the system with three nationalised industries. The Government aim to extend the system further this year.
