asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the rate of infant mortality in the Leek parliamentary constituency in the most recent year for which figures are available.

§ Mr. Deakins
For 1974 the infant mortality rate—deaths of children under 1 year of age per 1,000 live births—was 19.3.

§ Mr. Nicholas Winterton
asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the rate of infant mortality in the Macclesfield parliamentary constituency of each of the last years for which figures are available.
