§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many British citizens are living in Lebanon; and what advice has been given to them recently concerning their personal safety.
§ Mr. HattersleyThere are about 1,000 United Kingdom nationals remaining in the Lebanon. The Ambassador has advised them, by radio and in writing, that if they have no compelling reason to stay they should leave the country. Similar advice is given by the consular staff of the embassy whenever they have contact with British subjects.
