§ Mr. LuardFollowing Dr. Cassidy's release Her Majesty's Government protested in the strongest terms to the Chilean Government, as well as publicly deploring her mistreatment. We arranged for Dr. Cassidy to give evidence to the UN Human Rights Commission's Working Group on Chile, and co-sponsored a resolution passed by the Commission condemning the Junta's policies.
