§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Lord President of the Council whether, in view of the regular disclosure of official reports and public information to the media prior to the circulation of this information to Members of Parliament, he will move to appoint a Select Committee to investigate all aspects of circulation of Government information and reports, and the extent to which such information should deliberately be kept from Members of Parliament to enable the media to publicise it.

§ Mr. FootI have at present no plans to do so. However, I am considering whether any changes would be justified in the system of distribution of documents to the Press and Members of Parliament.
