§ Mrs. Chalkerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has for the further extension of the Family Fund and its research projects.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisThe scope of the Family Fund was extended in October 1974 to include all families in which there is a severely handicapped child irrespective of the origin of handicap. There are at present no plans for a further extension, but I have already announced that I have decided to provide money for the fund to continue its work at a level of £2 million a year.
As regards research associated with the fund, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Chorley (Mr. Rodgers) on 5th April.—[Vol. 909, c. 64.]
