§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many appeals by small hotels and boarding houses against requirements of fire authorities have been made in pursuance of requirements made 537W following the passage of the Fire Precautions Act in each fire authority area.
§ Mr. MillanRecords are not kept centrally but, so far as I am aware, there have been no appeals to the sheriff in terms of Section 9 of the Fire Precautions Act 1971.
§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list by fire authority area, the percentage of hotels and boarding houses in each area which have been issued with a fire certificate under the terms of the Fire Precautions Act.
§ Mr. MillanI refer the hon. Member to the reply to his Question on 11th February 1976—[Vol. 905, c.212.] Information about the number of hotels and boarding houses in their areas is not recorded by fire authorities. It is not, therefore, possible to calculate the number of certificates granted as a percentage of all hotels and boarding houses.
