§ Q27. Mr. Hal Millerasked the Prime Minister whether he will seek to pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China.
§ The Prime MinisterAs the House will know I had accepted an invitation as Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary to visit China early in May. Much to my regret I have had to cancel this visit—as well as the visits I was to have made to Japan and Hong Kong. I hope I shall have other opportunities to meet Chinese leaders before long. My right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary hopes in the near future to take up the invitation which I had received.
