HC Deb 12 April 1976 vol 909 cc372-3W
Mr. George Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many orders and regulations of the Metropolitan Police were approved under Section 5 of the Metropolitan Police Act 1829 during February 1976; how many were approved by civil servants exercising ministerial powers in the normal way; and how many were personally approved by a Minister.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

During February 1976 the Commissioner made seven amendments to Metropolitan Police General Orders which related to matters mentioned in Section 5 of the Metropolitan Police Act 1829 and which were approved under that section. On the second part of the Question I would refer my hon. Friend to the Answer I gave to a Question by him on 23rd March.— [Vol. 908, c.114.]
