HC Deb 09 April 1976 vol 909 cc325-6W
Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what was the quantity of oil produced from the Scottish jurisdiction sector of the North Sea in the period from 1st January to 31st March 1976; and what was the value of that oil at average market value during the period of production.

Mr. John Smith

I refer to my answer to the hon. Member on 22nd January—[Vol. 903, c.5523]—explaining that there are no sectors within the United Kingdom Continental Shelf. Final production figures for the United Kingdom Continental Shelf for the first three months of this year are not yet available, but it is provisionally estimated that total production of crude oil during this period was 1.1 million tonnes. The gross value of this oil at current market prices is between £55 million and £60 million.
