Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many successor parishes have been established in local authorities in England since the Local Government Act 1972; and if he will list them.

Mr. John Silkin

The Local Government Act 1972 provided for the establishment of "successor parishes" on 1st April 1974. 300 were established on that date. They are listed below.
