Mr. Alan WilliamsUntil the Statutory Corporations (Financial Provisions) Act 1975 came into force on 1st August 1975 the National Gas Consumers' Council was financed by the British Gas Corporation, and the cost of running it could not be separately distinguished from the Corporation's general administrative expenses Expenditure on the Council during the period from 1st August 1975 to 31st March 1976 was borne on my Department's Vote, and was at an annual rate estimated at £129,000.
