§ Mr. Bradleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action has been taken by his Department in connection with the provision of school meals in Leicester; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MulleyOn 10th October officers of my Department discussed with officials of the local education authority the difficulties that have arisen in providing meals at some schools in the city area. Measures for dealing with the situation at two of the schools, where the waiting lists are substantial, are already under urgent consideration by the authority and the position at other schools is being reviewed. The authority has been asked for a full report on the situation and on its plans for dealing with it. My Department will be keeping in touch with it about progress.
