HC Deb 16 October 1975 vol 897 c808W
Mrs. Colquhoun

asked the Secretary of State for Trade in view of the risk from infestation of shoes by woodworm, if he will suspend wooden shoe imports until an inquiry has been made by his Department.

Mr. Kaufman

I have been asked to reply.

I have no evidence that infestation of imported shoes by woodworm is of such proportions as to warrant an inquiry, but I am, of course, ready to consider any evidence which my hon. Friend can let me have.
