§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many persons have been served with exclusion orders under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act; how many have been deported to (a) Northern Ireland and (b) the Republic of Ireland; how many have appealed against exclusion orders; and how many appeals have been successful.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsI have made 66 exclusion orders. Notice of the making of an order has been served on 58 people, 53 of whom have been removed, 36 to Northern Ireland, and 17 to the Irish 579W Republic. Sixteen of the 58 made representations objecting to the order. I revoked the order in five of these 16 cases.
In addition, the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey has made three exclusion orders and the people concerned were removed to Northern Ireland.
