§ Miss Joan LestorFigures relating to pupils in school are collected as at January of each year. In January 1975 the average size of a registered primary class in maintained schools in the area of the metropolitan district of Bimingham was 31.6. As the future deployment of teachers in a given area is a matter for the individual local authority, no estimates of primary class sizes for January 1976 or 1977 are available.
