§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsExport licences are already required for the export of works of art and antiques over 100 years old and worth £4,000 or more; and for British archaeological items over 100 years old, and for documentary and photographic material over 70 years old, whatever the value. Before granting a licence the Government are advised by the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art on whether licences should be withheld782W to enable public collections to purchase. I am satisfied with the working of the present arrangements.
