§ Sir G. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for Trade what action he proposes to take to prevent Spanish steel being dumped in the United Kingdom at prices more than 25 per cent. lower than those prevailing in Spain for the same Spanish steel.
§ Mr. DeakinsMy Department announced on Thursday, 6th November that it had accepted for investigation an application for the imposition of antidumping duties under the Customs Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act 1969 on imports of plain or deformed steel reinforcing bars or rods originating in Spain. The outcome of this investigation will determine what action will be taken. No allegations of dumping of other types of steel from Spain have been made to my Department.
