asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the total number of Pakistanis who have been allowed into the United Kingdom for settlement since Pakistan left the Commonwealth up to the most recent date for which figures are available.

Seven thousand five hundred and fifteen citizens of Pakistan—almost all wives and children of men settled here—were admitted to the United Kingdom for settlement on arrival between 1st September 1973, the date on which the Pakistan Act came into force, and 30th June 1975, the latest period for which figures are available.
