HC Deb 10 November 1975 vol 899 c465W
Mr. Townsend

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what permanent arrangements are in force in Scotland in case of terrorist attacks on Great Britain's North Sea oil and gas platforms; and to what extent the Royal Marines are participating in such arrangements.

Mr. William Rodgers

The permanent arrangements are those under which the Armed Services provide aid to the civil power as circumstances may require. For Scotland this aid would normally be arranged through the maritime headquarters at Pitreavie and could include Royal Marines.
