§ Dr. OwenAs at 30th September 1974, the latest date for which national details are available, the establishment in Nottinghamshire Area Health Authority was106W 31 dental officers and 15 dental auxiliaries; the numbers of staff in post were 29 dental officers—whole-time equivalent 20.9—and nine dental auxiliaries—whole-time equivalent 8.4; the school population dentist ratio was 9,007; at the same date the national ratio was 5,684.
I understand that by 30th September 1975 the staff in Nottinghamshire had increased to 22.9—whole-time equivalent—dental officers and 8.1—whole-time equivalent—dental auxiliaries. The school population/dentist ratio was then 1:8,267.
