§ Mr. Arnold Shawasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether his Department is able to control the importation of sterile water from the United States of America; if so, what were the quantities imported in the last three years; at what estimated cost; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. DeakinsMy Department has wide powers to prohibit or restrict the import of any goods. But any question of import controls on sterile water would be in the first instance a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services. I have no information on the quantity or cost of sterile water imports.
