§ Mr. Normantonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in view of the continuing anxiety of residents in the area around Ringway Airport, he is in a position to announce the date for the holding of a public inquiry into the development plans of Manchester Airport.
§ Mr. John SilkinThe plan for the development of a second runway at Ring-way Airport is still before the Cheshire County Council. I will call in the application and hold a public inquiry when it has completed its consideration of it. I do not yet know when that will be.
