§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the quota of teachers set by his Department after consultation with the Bedfordshire County Council; and by what number that figure has been exceeded.
§ Mr. ArmstrongThe teacher quota for 1974–75 allocated to Bedfordshire was 4,530. In January 1975 the authority was employing 4,506 teachers counting against the quota. Additionally it was employing the full-time equivalent of 314 teachers not counting against the quota.
