§ Mr. EadiePublic sector expenditure in 1974–75 on R and D related to energy conservation by final consumers is estimated to be approximately £11 million. In addition, a substantial part of the R and D effort of the nationalised industries is devoted to improvement of their internal energy economics. No estimate is available for the private sector.
