§ Mr. Hordernasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will now make arrangements to allow compensation to be made to relatives of British Service men killed in action in, Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. Merlyn Rees:Provision already exists under the Criminal Injuries to Persons (Compensation) Act (Northern Ireland) 1968 for the payment of compensation to relatives, who were also dependants as defined in the Act, of Service men killed in action as a result of criminal injuries sustained in Northern Ireland. Compensation to relatives who were not dependants is limited to the recoupment of actual expenses, such as funeral expenses, incurred as a result of the death.
