asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now close the unofficial caravan site on land owned by his Department adjacent to the Park Street Roundabout, St. Albans.

No. To move the gipsies when there is no official site for them would simply transfer the problem elsewhere. I understand that the county council, with the agreement of the district council, is now carrying out works to improve conditions on the site.
