HL Deb 13 March 1975 vol 358 c488WA
Lord WALLACE of COSLANY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is the practice for patents to be taken out for completed projects of the Post Office Research Unit and if so what fees are paid by private industry for the use of such patents.

Lord BESWICK

This is a matter for the Post Office, but I understand that it normally patents its inventions when it is possible to do so. The use of these inventions by other organisations for non-Post Office purposes is subject to normal commercial arrangements.

House adjourned at eighteen minutes before eight o'clock.
