§ Mr. John SmithThe Treaty of Rome provides for the free movement of goods between member States. The United Kingdom has no export controls on oil; licensing imposed exceptionally at the time of the 1973–74 oil emergency has been automatic since spring 1974 and ceased on 4th March 1975.
