§ Q15. Mr. Leslie Huckfieldasked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on his most recent discussions with the American Secretary of State on progress towards a peace settlement in the Middle East.
§ The Prime MinisterYes. I and my right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary met Dr. Kissinger on 15th February. Dr. Kissinger told us something of his latest trip to the Middle East. He was cautiously optimistic that an agreement involving a further Israeli withdrawal in Sinai could be negotiated during his next round of talks in the area, which starts very shortly. We continue to give our full support to his mission.
