§ Mr. DeakinsThe functions of my Department, principally in relation to general overseas trade policy, the regulation of domestic trade, patents, shipping and civil aviation, marine safety and the sponsorship of specific service industries, relate to Great Britain as a whole. In exercising these functions in Scotland my Department works in co-operation with that of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland.
