HC Deb 30 June 1975 vol 894 c345W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many farms on the Snowdon Estate, which was taken over by the Welsh Office from the previous landowner, have been offered for sale to the tenant farmers in line with the undertaking given by the then Minister of State at the Welsh Office on 10th June 1971; how many farms have been sold in this way; and how many remain in the ownership of the Welsh Office.

Mr. John Morris

A formal offer to sell has been made in one case and negotiations have reached an advanced stage in five others. In the remaining 14 cases, negotiations on access agreements are proceeding. The tenants of all 20 farms have been assured that they have the first option to purchase their holdings and they are being kept informed of progress.
