§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Lord President of the Council if he will bring forward proposals for giving financial assistance to Members who are required to visit the offices of the Commission of the EEC at Brussels in relation to their constituency or parliamentary work.
§ Mr. Edward ShortI recognise that at present there is no financial provision for meeting the travelling costs of Members who may be required to visit the offices of the EEC Commission on parliamentary or constituency business. However, it is expected that the general question of Members' travel facilities will be covered in the second part of the Top Salaries Review Body's report when it is submitted. If a clear need for this facility is established further consideration will be given to the question in the light of that report.
