§ The Prime MinisterI met with Mr. Rabin, the Prime Minister of Israel, on 10th June at London Airport and entertained Mr. Fahmi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Egypt, to luncheon on 11th June. We discussed the Middle East situation in the light of President Ford's meeting with President Sadat at Salzburg and Mr. Rabin's forthcoming visit to Washington. I emphasised that a continuing stalemate was in no one's interest.
