§ 37. Mr Jesselasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking through EEC institutions to ensure that India is not in a worse position in relation to the European Economic Community than those developing countries which are signatories to the Lomé Convention.
§ Mr. HattersleyWe shall continue to press the Community to improve the situation for India and other Asian Commonwealth countries, in particular on the Generalised Scheme of Preferences. Where much progress already has been made is on the aid front, where a decision in principle to help the Asian Commonwealth countries has already been taken.
