§ Mr. ShoreSo far this year substantial progress has been made in reducing our overseas visible trade deficit. In the three months ended May 1975 our visible trade deficit was £424 million, seasonally adjusted, compared with £958 million in the previous three months. Trade in non-oil goods improved to show a surplus of £221 million compared with a deficit of £96 million while the deficit on trade in oil at £645 million was £217 million lower than in the previous three months.
