§ Mr. EadieI have been asked to reply.
Sites licensed under the Nuclear Installations Act 1965 are subject to control by the Health and Safety Executive. Conditions attached to the site licences are imposed and enforced by the executive's Nuclear Installations Inspectorate. These conditions provide the necessary safety standards. Equivalent standards are applied at nuclear installations under the control of the Atomic Energy Authority and Government Departments. I am satisfied with these arrangements.
