§ Mr. Reidasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has made of the percentage of hospital beds in Scotland occupied by persons whose illness was caused by alcoholism.
§ Mr. William RossAt 31st December 1973 there were 946 patients who had been diagnosed as suffering from alcoholism or alcoholic psychosis. This figure represents about 1.5 per cent. of all hospital beds. No estimate is available of other patients whose illness may have been caused by alcoholism.
