HL Deb 29 July 1975 vol 363 cc1005-6WA
Lord BALERNO

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What are the additional units of student accommodation provided by each university in the United Kingdom:

  1. (a) likely to be available by October next,
  2. (b) presently under construction and likely to be available by October 1976,
  3. 1006
  4. (c) planned for completion by October 1977.

The MINISTER of STATE, DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION and SCIENCE (Lord Crowther-Hunt)

The table below shows the number of grantaided residential places now under construction in universities in Great Britain and likely to become available in the next two academic years. It excludes those involving the purchase or adaptation of existing buildings, except where otherwise indicated. Plans for completions in October 1977 are at present subject to too many uncertainties for reliable figures to be given.
