§ Mr. Adam Butlerasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will give details both of the agreement on textile imports from Pakistan recently initialled under the MFA, and of the Community arrangements on restricting imports from Taiwan.
§ Mr. DeakinsDetails of the agreement with Pakistan cannot be given until the agreement has been formally concluded. A Council regulation on Community restraints of imports from Taiwan 23W was adopted on 10th July and details will be published shortly in the Official Journal of the European Communities, copies of which are available in the Library of the House. A further regulation is in preparation which will prescribe the annual growth rates for restrained imports from Taiwan under the burden-sharing formula.
