HC Deb 17 July 1975 vol 895 cc606-7W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list those pay settlements in the public sector which have been agreed but do not take effect until later this year or next; and if he will indicate those settlements which will now be met in full, in part or not at all, respectively, in the light of the policy on transitional settlements set out in paragraph 8 of the White Paper entitled "The Attack on Inflation".

Mr. Booth

My Department does not operate a comprehensive monitoring system but I understand that settlements have been agreed and will be paid in full for the following groups in the public sector:

  • British Waterways Board (Manuals).
  • National Bus Company (Clerical, administrative and supervisory).
  • British Broadcasting Corporation (Manuals).
  • Police.
  • Passenger Transport Executives (except Greater Glasgow) (non-manual staff).

In addition formal arbitration awards will be payable to university academic staff and the primary and secondary school teachers in England and Wales.
