Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what were the average market prices for fat cattle inclusive of the beef premium in leading English markets for the last week in June 1975; and what were the corresponding figures for the last five years.

The average market price for certified clean cattle during the week beginning 23rd June 1975 at representative markets in England was £20.30 per live hundredweight. In addition during the same week total premium was payable at the GB rate of £2.66 per live hundredweight. The average market price for clean cattle at representative markets in England for the comparable week in the previous five years was as follows:
