§ Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many Royal Air Force stations are in use by NATO air forces; and why NATO has not been asked to contribute towards the cost of their equipment.
§ Mr. JohnThe only air force concerned is that of the United States, and I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to his previous Question. The United States Government are responsible for all works, services and other operating costs at the stations in the United Kingdom that are used by the United States Air Force, but they do in fact receive a contribution from NATO funds to meet certain of the infrastructure costs.
