Mr. Wm Ross
asked the Minister of Agriculture and Food what further measures he now proposes to take to mitigate the effects of the green pound on Northern Ireland agriculture.
§ Mr. Peart
In keeping the level of the United Kingdom representative rate under review I have in mind its effect in all170W parts of the United Kingdom. The hon. Member will be aware of the action taken earlier this year in Northern Ireland which has mitigated the effects of the present differential between the representative rates applied in the United Kingdom and the Irish Republic.
