§ Lord James Douglas-Hamiltonasked the Lord Advocate how many alleged battered baby cases were reported to the Crown Office year by year from 1960 to 1975; how many of these cases gave rise to prosecutions in the High Court of Justiciary year by year from 1960 to 1975; and how many of these cases led to convictions year by year from 1960 to 1975.
The Lord AdvocateCrown Office does not keep a record of reported battered baby cases and accordingly I am unable to give you the information requested in the first part of the Ques-4W tion. As regards the second and third parts the figures are as follows:
