§ Dr. SummerskillAs a result of local government reorganisation establishments were approved for all forces with effect from 1st April 1974. Comprehensive reviews are carried out at regular intervals at the discretion of the police authority; in addition minor adjustments are made as necessary. Figures for the establishment and strength of police forces in England and Wales were given in reply to a Question from the hon. Member for Bournemouth, East (Mr. Cordle) on 3rd July.
