§ Mr. KaufmanYes. My Department is in frequent contact with the British Footwear Manufacturers' Federation, other trade organisations and individual firms about issues which have a bearing on employment levels in the footwear industry. Both immediate problems and longer-term issues are being discussed in the joint study of the footwear industry which we have instituted with manufacturers and trade unions.
