§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the note attached to coding notices relating to age allowance (P.354) does not state that the suggestion that this allowance should be introduced is one which is subject to parliamentary approval.
§ Mr Robert Sheldon, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 29th January 1975; Vol. 885, c. 182], gave the following information:
Because the notices of coding being sent to taxpayers are also accompanied by a leaflet which describes my proposal for an age allowance as such.
