§ Mr. Spearingasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in the Official Report the total of grants made by various funds of the European Community to projects and undertakings in the United Kingdom for each of the years 1973 and 1974, naming those where the annual grant is in excess of £500,000 or other convenient figure as the respective authority for that expenditure.

- (a) Payments from the guarantee section of the EAGGF are made to the Intervention Board for Agricultural Produce for market support under the CAP.
- (b) The payment from the guidance section of the EAGGF has been made in respect of the dairy herd conversion scheme.
- (c) Grants in excess of £500,000 from the Social Fund have been paid to the Departments of Employment and Health and Social Services, Northern Ireland.
- (d) A grant in excess of £500,000 from the ECSC has been made to the National Coal Board.
- (e) The refunds for collecting "own resources" are paid to the Treasury.
- (f) Payments from Euratom are made to the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. Of the total in 1974 £1.4 million was in respect of fusion research.
