§ Mr. DeakinsFollowing is the information:
by a declaration issued at the end of the Munich Diplomatic Conference in October 1973, undertook to bring into force simultaneously the Convention on a European System for the Grant of Patents and a Convention on a European Patent for the Common Market, and that this undertaking is still valid; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisSince the date of the Commission's answer the member States have decided that it is not necessary for the European Patent Convention and Community Patent Convention to be brought into force simultaneously. This means that entry into force of the European Patent Convention should not be delayed by the continuing negotiations on the Community Patent Convention. The aim is that the European Patent Convention should enter into force early in 1977. Subject to satisfactory negotiation of its 387W terms it is proposed that the Community Patent Convention should enter into force soon after.
